One of my earliest childhood memories was when I got my first dog, his name was freddy. I was five years old and always grew up with cats and never had a dog. My mother would take me to my neighboors and, let me play with their dogs all the time but, i still wanted my own dog. I begged my parents for months and months until they decided to take me to the animal shelter.
When we pulled up to the animal shelter I rememberd feeling so excited and happy that, I wanted to jump out of the car and just go by myself. As we walked in we saw all types of dogs some big ones, some small ones and some medium ones. Also their were many different types like Labordor Retrivers,Great Danes, Golden Retrivers, and even Pugs. Most of the dogs in the pound were older and I wanted a puppy. The lady that assisted us took my parents and I, to the back of the room were all the puppies were located. I looked and looked and nothing was catching my eye untill, I saw this tiny little pup that was so furry and, was black with white spots, the puppy kept on falling and it was just so goofy. My mother then picked him up, and said, “YOU CANT SEE HIS EYES”!, something about that made me half to get him.
We brought him home and later on that day, I decided to name him after fred flinstone. When I was growing up, that was my favorite t.v show so, I thought why not. Freddy became my best friend, we did everything together, he would even let me dress him up, and let me color him with magic markers and, the werid part is he loved it! Freddy never grew out of his goofiness and, you still could never see his eyes but, it was something about that dog that I just loved. He died a couple of years ago from cancer and, sometimes I still miss freddy ,and still think about him but, im grateful that I had such a close relationship with my dog and, he will be rememberd forever.
